Housing Assistance
Shelter + Care Program
Permanent housing and support provided by Groundworks in North and West Brattleboro respectively. These apartments are owned and managed by Windham & Windsor Housing Trust with on-site case management and other supports offered by Groundworks Collaborative.
Finding Healthcare
Healthworks
Licensed Mental Health Clinician from the Brattleboro Retreat for 40 hours/ week – offering early recovery and clinical counseling support to clients and residents of our shelters.
Vulnerable Population Care Coordinator is a RN from Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) available on-site for 24 hours/week. VPCC helps clients to connect with a PCP, makes referrals to dental, mental health, and other specialists, and may accompany clients to medical appointments as an advocate.
Case Manager from HCRS (Health Care and Rehabilitation Services) on site at Groundworks for 16 hours/week providing outreach and engagement to those struggling with substance use.

Our case management model can include weekly home visits to ensure that clients are setting and meeting goals to address the challenges that may have led to homelessness.

Financial Literacy
Representative Payee Program
Provides financial management by serving as an intermediary between those receiving Social Security disability payments and their benefits. The program ensures that rent and basic living expenses are paid before spending money is disbursed to clients, which keeps participants on budget and in good financial standing, thereby preventing future threat of homelessness.
Emergency Housing
Morningside House
A year-round 30-bed shelter for families and individuals. Provides all residents intensive case management for services such as job training/placement, medical/mental health treatment, counseling, budget, nutrition, health education, parenting/child care services, and aplying for subsidized housing. Morningside House operates at capacity throughout the year and maintains a waiting list for entry.

Emergency Housing
Groundworks Drop-In Center & Overnight Shelter
Providing services such as: email, telephones, laundry, showers, a mailing address, coffee and snacks, the Food Shelf, and a kitchen to prepare a meal. Every evening, the Overnight Shelter offers 34 beds and a hot meal for those experiencing homelessness in our community.

Outreach Team
Groundworks' is engaging with unsheltered people in the community; facilitating service connections related to housing, and specialized health care needs, obtaining identification, and providing support with basic needs such as critical camping gear, food, and clothing, etc.
