Support Services

Adult Day

Springfield Area Adult Day Service offers an affordable program that participants refer to as “A Home Away from Home.” We help adults over the age of 18 facing the challenges associated with aging and disability, frailty, isolation, and physical or cognitive impairment. We offer a cost-effective program. Our program includes a variety of health, social, and supportive services to help participants enhance wellness and maintain independence.

Case Management

Our knowledgeable and resourceful case managers will work with you, your child, and other family members to support you in a variety of ways, including teaching specific behavioral and parenting skills, carrying out specific objectives from the plan of care, and providing home-based support and skill building.

Intensive Family Based Services

Home-based support and assistance to families. The ultimate goal of IFBS is to help families remain together. The staff in this short-term program (13 weeks) work with you and the referring agency to assess the challenges you’re experiencing, establish focused goals, and help you find solutions

Safety/Wellbeing of Children and Youth

Reach Ahead

Provides transitional assistance and job support, including coaching, support services, childcare subsidy, and a food benefit.

Post-Secondary Education (PSE)

Provides coaching and advisory support to student parents who are pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree, in addition to cash assistance grant to help students purchase books, transportation, and childcare subsidy.

Basic Needs Crisis Intervention

SEVCA can help provide vouchers for basic needs such as housing, fuel, and clothing

Children's Integrated Services & Early Intervention

We have a friendly and knowledgeable staff of developmental educators, including a nurse, physical therapist, speech language pathologist, mental health clinician and family support worker for our Children's Integrated Services (CIS) and Early Intervention (EI) programs. These programs are free or covered by insurance and are available for families who have: A child under 3 with suspected or diagnosed medical conditions or developmental delays, A need for family or parenting support, mental health, or preventative nursing services for children under 6.

Welcome Baby Bags

Any parent or guardian with a baby up to one year old is eligible for a free Welcome Baby Bag filled with gifts and resources. Volunteers donate new items such as baby clothes, blankets, hats, books, and more to provide this program to the community. Almost 200 Welcome Baby Bags were given out to our community last year.

Diaper and Formula Bank

Any parent or guardian living in our service region can access free diapers and wipes from our diaper bank. Additionally, we often have access to formula and other necessities if needed - just ask.

Playgroups

Playgroups are FREE and open to everyone! Free weekly playgroups in Springfield and Windsor provide parents and children with opportunities to socialize, learn and have fun in a safe environment lead by our parent child center specialists. Our playgroups are offered indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather, and include educational field trips in the warmer months, typically no registration required.

I Am Me Playgroup

Free monthly I Am Me Playgroup for children with physical or mental accessibility needs - registration required. Please contact for more details.

Parent Education and Support

Parenting classes are provided by our knowledgeable staff and community partners using evidenced-based and evidence-informed curricula. We also provide support groups, resources and information both online and in-person.

At SAPCC, we provide a welcoming environment with caring, professional staff dedicated to supporting families. Whether addressing immediate needs—like food, shelter, or heating—or promoting long-term well-being, we connect families with young children with the resources and support they need to thrive.

Family and Child Health

Immunizations

The Springfield Local Health Office offers monthly immunization clinics at no charge for people who are under 65 years old and uninsured, experiencing significant barriers to access, or a patient of a medical practice that cannot receive vaccine from the Vermont Vaccines for Children & Adults program.

Breastfeeding Support Services

We help new moms become successful at breastfeeding by linking women to breastfeeding support services such as our WIC Peer Counselors. We encourage local businesses to become breastfeeding friendly.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

Description: The WIC Program provides access to healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and referrals to health care and other community resources. Eligibility: WIC is for income-eligible Vermont residents who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a new baby, and children under age 5. Parents, grandparents and foster parents may apply for children in their care. Or, if you or your child is on Medicaid, Dr. Dynasaur or 3SquaresVT/SNAP, you can join WIC.
