Restorative Justice

Reparative Panels

For people responsible for criminal offenses (“offenders”) and people affected by crime (“victims”). To support victims in getting their needs met and support offenders to be accountable, repair harm, and prevent reoffense. Panels meet 1-3 times per month with offenders until objectives have been met. Victims can participate in any way they choose with 1 panel facilitator, community volunteers, offender and/or victim.

Pre-Charge Programs with Springfield and Bellows Falls Police Departments

For people who committed lower level offenses who have not yet been charged, and those impacted by the offense. To utilize principles of restorative justice, responsible parties learn about the effects of their actions, repair harm, and make plans to avoid re-offense. Affected parties have a voice and participate if they choose. People are referred by the police for a precharge reparative panel process. With 1 panel facilitator, community volunteers, responsible party and affected parties (if they choose).
