Mental Health

Psychiatric Services

Outpatient psychiatric assessment, counseling, and medication services are available to youth who are receiving other services through HCRS’ Children’s Program

Youth Counseling Services

Outpatient counseling services are provided for youth in individual and group settings in a confidential and safe environment.

Respite Services

Our respite service is a mentoring program for children who have limited opportunities for social/community outings and need guidance and support on social and behavioral skills.

School Based Services

We have contracts with 28 local schools to provide students with mental health, behavioral, and substance use services within the school setting.

Summer Therapeutic Program

This special summer programming is designed for youth who may not thrive in a traditional summer camp program. We combine outdoor recreational activities with behavioral and therapeutic programming to teach and reinforce positive social skills and behaviors.

DUI Program

HCRS collaborates with the Windsor County Court to provide treatment for adults in Windsor, Windham, or Orange counties with substance related driving offenses This is a voluntary program for individuals who meet criteria for a moderate to severe substance use diagnosis.

Peer Support Services

Peer support staff are chosen for our ability to relate and connect with others, in part because of our life experience. We are able to relate to distress, marginalization, and oppression because we have been through it.

Residential services

The Residential continuum of care is comprised of a total of 38 beds spanning five individual programs. Residential Services offers residential care spanning from short term crisis stabilization, to intensive residential care, to therapeutic community residential services.

Enhanced mobile Crisis Services

Providing urgent mental health support. 2-team member in-person community response for people experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. Statewide resource

Face-to-Face Outreach for Individuals

Crisis Team members provide crisis stabilization support, assess individuals for hospitalization, or the use of crisis beds. The teams are available to meet people in HCRS office, hospital emergency rooms, or other community settings.

Face-to-Face Outreach for Families

A support line for Developmental Services and Children's services clients and their families, Offers phone consultant to help determine what additional support may be needed for a positive outcome.SAFE Responder can be dispatched to provide in-person support for the child/client SAFE Team Nurse can be brought in for Developmental Services clients for medical question, medication administration concerns, or report a medical incident.

Elder Care Program

Our Elder Care Program, in collaboration with Senior Solutions, provides mental health screening, assessment, therapy, and case management services to people 60 years of age and older who suffer from depression, anxiety, substance use, and/or other mental health difficulties, who are also home bound.

Case Management

Our knowledgeable and resourceful case managers will work with you, your child, and other family members to support you in a variety of ways, including teaching specific behavioral and parenting skills, carrying out specific objectives from the plan of care, and providing home-based support and skill building.

Intensive Family Based Services

Home-based support and assistance to families. The ultimate goal of IFBS is to help families remain together. The staff in this short-term program (13 weeks) work with you and the referring agency to assess the challenges you’re experiencing, establish focused goals, and help you find solutions

Substance Use & Additictions

Education, assessment, outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment, as well as referral services. The goals of this program is to support reduced risk, improved health, and recovery from alcohol and substance use to promote wellness.

Transition Age Youth program

Support youth between the ages of 16 and 22 who are struggling with significant emotional or behavioral issues as well as substance use issues so that they can make a successful entry into the adult world.

Children's Integrated Services & Early Intervention

We have a friendly and knowledgeable staff of developmental educators, including a nurse, physical therapist, speech language pathologist, mental health clinician and family support worker for our Children's Integrated Services (CIS) and Early Intervention (EI) programs. These programs are free or covered by insurance and are available for families who have: A child under 3 with suspected or diagnosed medical conditions or developmental delays, A need for family or parenting support, mental health, or preventative nursing services for children under 6.

HEART Program

Helping Everyone Access Resources & Thrive. HEART's Grief and Loss Program supports families as they process and grieve the loss of a pregnancy or infant. One on one counseling for the birthing person & partner, Help with funeral planning or commemorating the loss, Weighted Bear Program, Monthly Grief & Loss Group Meetings, Additional support and resources, Universal eligibility for families currently experiencing loss during pregnancy and infancy, or if the loss has happened over the last 18 months.

Friendly Visiting

We work to connect, mostly older adults, with volunteers to reduce rural isolation and provide friendship / support. This can be in person or over the phone. Open to all ages.
