We work with schools, worksites, coalitions, not-for-profit organizations, early childhood and health care providers and many others locally to promote health, prevent disease and prepare for emergencies. We help families and residents thrive through improved nutrition, immunization rates, health education and referrals to community resources. We invite you to learn about the many ways we can work together for a healthier community.

Emergency Preparedness
The Springfield Local Health Office is trained to respond to public health emergencies. We work with local, state and federal partners to make sure we are prepared to distribute medicine, supplies and information to residents of Southern Windsor and Northern Windham Counties in a health emergency. We provide planning assistance to agencies and local businesses on emergency planning. Our Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps teaches a number of public safety courses, including Stop the Bleed and Safety First, an education course for new drivers.
